A Golden Advice

If I were asked to give what I consider the single most useful bit of advice for all humanity, it would be this: Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life, and when it comes, hold your head high. Look it squarely in the eye, and say, “I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me.

Who Killed The Cat?

A Manager... who lack leadership and people skills!
Did not understand what sharing the job was. He kept on pushing himself hard, putting pressure upon himself which he knew he has not the ability to carry out....
One day he called his secretary angrily... the latter came in and stood waiting
The Manager shouted: “I called your office this morning and you did not answer!!!
The Secretary replied: “I was at one of the other offices getting something... Sorry Sir”.
The Manager rudely: “Every time sorry... sorry... Take those papers and give them to the maintenance department and GET BACK QUICKLY...
The Secretary went along to do as he was told angry and frustrated.
Once he reached the Maintenance department he threw the papers he had with him on the table saying as he started turning back: “Don’t be late with those papers!”
The chief of the maintenance department who was sitting at the table answered: “Fine, but you could hand me the papers in a nice manner next time”.
The Secretary: “Good manner or not... just do as you are told”.
They argued and shouted at each other, before eventually the secretary went back to his office.
Two hours passed and then one of the workers in the maintenance department came to ask for a permission to pick up his children from school as he always does.
The Chief who was still upset by the earlier incident shouted: “And you always taking time off to pick up your children from school..”
The poor worker replied: “but I have been doing that for the last ten years and you never had a problem with it before!!!”
The Chief: “Get back to your work....”
The poor worker went back to his desk not understanding what has happened, and started making calls to find someone to pick up his kids from school and take home. The poor children waited for a long time with no sign of their dad, until one of the teachers gave them a lift home.
The worker got back home upset and angry by what happened at work earlier that day. His little boy came up to him happy wanting to show him what he got from his teacher for being good.
The father pushed his child away from him shouting: “Go to your mother now...”
The child went to his mother crying.....
A little while later his cat came, rubbing itself against his legs wishing to play, the child still upset and hurt by his father’s treatment.. Kicked the cat against the wall...
The question is: Who do you think kicked the cat???
The art of good leadership is delegating responsibilities between the team members. Pushing oneself to the limit is danger to yourself and the team you are leading. Creating pressure and a sense of unfairness that can only result in creating an “unproductive team”.
Be brave and know yourself and your limits. It is not a sign of weakness to share the job between everyone, we all need help and "teamwork" is there for that reason!
