A King in one of the old country, decided to change its economy
minister, who failed to provide a decent life for his people. He declared in
the markets that he who trusts in himself and sees that he has sufficient
capacity to win such a position to apply for the contest...
Ten members of the public came forward…
The King gave each of them 1000 pieces of gold and said: “Come back
after 3 months to see what you did it”
Three months passed and nine of the contestants came with big bags of money.
He reviewed the first: “I come to you, Sir, with 15 thousand pieces of
gold”!
The second increased it and said: “I come with 16 thousand pieces”
The king sat down quietly listening to the nine men competing and
arguing, until he notice the tenth man standing quietly.
King addressed the tenth man and said: “Where is the money?”
The man hesitated and looked worried before finally saying: “I’m afraid
I have no money for you, your majesty.”
The King looking angrily: “Have you wasted the money on pleasures?”
The Man: “No, you Majesty”!
The king: “So?”
Man: “Sir, I have purchased a piece of agricultural land and hired some
workers, who have suggested to buy some cattle, and now I do not have any money
until the crop is ready and sell it!
The king looked hard at the man, after sometime said: “You are the
Ministers!”
A commotion spread in the hall. The nine men all thought they were more
deserving as the tenth man crops will probably take three years before a profit
could be gained.
The king stood up and addressed the ten men: “Who told you that the
economy is the development of money? That is called trade! Economy however, is
how you spend and use money to make life runs smoother and more beneficial and
make it easier for the people.
Wisdom: Real economy is not how to only grow your money, but it is how
you spend it and make it improve your life and raise your living standards.
